The folks at Apple have finally released their next generation iPad device and quite fascinatingly, the Company is calling the next-generation iPad as simply “The new iPad” instead of the iPad 3 or iPad HD.
The online Apple Store has started taking preorders for the new iPad, with color options, 16, 32 and 64GB storage options, and WiFi or mobile 4G options. The Cupertino California Company is currently limiting preorders to 2 per customer.
However, when it is available, the online store provides a single 16GB WiFi iPad 2 option at a price tag of $399 in black or white flavors, and the new iPad model in either color, any of three capacities in WiFi versions of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at a price tag of $499, $599 and $699 respectively.
The new $499 iPad have gone live and will not be shipped until 16th March and full pricing includes both internal memory increases in addition to an upgrade to two different kinds of 4G LTE here in the USA, one for Verizon and other for AT&T.
In the US, the new iPad support either Verizon or AT&T-style 4G LTE service. Verizon’s monthly plans offer the 2GB, 5GB and 10GB at a price tag of $30, $50 and $80 respectively, while AT&T offers $15 for 250MB to $30 for 2GB to $50 for 5GB.
