Well, in recent weeks there have been gossips that the Cupertino Giant would sell the iPad 2 for a lower price tag after the new iPad (iPad 3 or iPad HD) roll out and quite fascinatingly, to further amp up the pressure on rival 10-inch Android tablets, Apple is dropping the price of the iPad 2 by $100.
The price reduction of the iPad 2 will help round out Apple’s tablet lineup to cover more market segments. The iPad 2 will now be priced at $399 for the 16GB WiFi-only model and $529 for the WiFi plus 3G models.
In fact, the price drop of Apple’s iPad 2 would surely affect the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, both of which retail for $199 and also the smaller Tablets as the price chop of $100 can make a big difference and psychologically effect the people and will be really tempting for the folks who don’t want to drop $499 for the newest iPad.
The news regarding iPad 2 price drop isn’t surprising as the news has been swirling around the web long back from many analysts. On the other hand, price chop of iPad 2 indicates that it will extend the reach of the iPad into hands of schools, students, and other people that have not purchased previously due to cost.
The new iPad model strike the market in three WiFi versions – 16GB WiFi-only model at a price tag of $499, 32GB WiFi model for $599 and 64GB WiFi plus 4G LTE model for $699.
