Quite fascinatingly, a small but fundamental shift took place in the Android Market, as the Search Giant has increased its arbitrary maximum application size from 50MB to a massive 4GB.

On the other hand, there are many apps on Android that are already larger than 50 MB. The file size limit for Android Market download radical increase from 50 MB to 4 GB is a new change for Google is mostly symbolic in nature, and as well works to guarantee users have the appropriate time essential if they want to request an app refund.

The way many large-capacity apps work currently is that the Android Market download is in fact just a shell. After users complete the download, they have to go into the app to get the complete file. By the time that happens, the window to request a refund for the app has passed already. Therefore, with this reality in its mind, the Android team has raised the file size limit for developers.

Interestingly, the size of mobile apps has increased quickly, maybe even more than the expectations of many analysts. With 4G LTE currently turning out to be the norm, in particular for Android smartphones, high-capacity content is more and more commonplace.
